Submissions

The Helpful Critics is always looking for new writers. If you would like to submit some of your work, please read through the following page and see if we’re right for you.

What you will get as a writer for The Helpful Critics:

  • Freedom to write what you want. If you want to review Jack in the Box’s newest sandwich, go for it. If you want to write about a fancy new restaurant that most people can’t afford, that’s fine. You can be funny or serious, you can write long articles or short articles, you do whatever you’re comfortable with.
  • Free advertising. If you have a website, you’re free to link to it within your articles. You can also put your email address in your articles. And, if you link back to this site, I’ll put a link to yours on the links section of the site.
  • You retain the license to your works. We don’t own your articles. Post them wherever you want, publish them where you want, do whatever you’d like with the articles that you write.

What we expect from you:

  • Your articles have to be original. We have no easy way of verifying this, so understand that if you copy someone else’s article, you’ll take full responsibility for any copyright infringement.
  • Your work should be well-written and as error-free as possible. Our editors will read through your submissions prior to publication and clean up any grammatical and punctuation errors, but please try to clean it up yourself before you send it to us. Have someone else read it if you can.

After reading through that, if you’d like to submit your reviews, please send them to editor@helpfulcritics.com. If you’re accepted as a writer, you’ll be provided with a login to the website so you can directly submit your articles in the future.
